Musingu’s quest to lift trophy

Musingu’s quest to lift trophy

Musingu High school technical team led by Mike Malungu is optimistic that they will lift the National Hockey title in this year. Musingu defeated 2016 National and East African Champions Friends School Kamusinga in the Western Regions to qualify for the Nationals. The last time Musingu made it to the Nationals was in 2009 at Upperhill School.

“The boys have been training to come for nationals since first team started n they are ready for the task ahead. It was their goal and the ball is in their court.” Said Bramwel Lijodi who is part of the technical bench and a former old boy of the school.

Musingu have never lifted the national title before but has produced many good players in Kenya like former National Men Assistant Captain Ken Nyongesa who is current captain for Butali Warriors.

It will however not be a walk in the park for Musingu as they are in a tough Pool A with Dr Riberio from Nairobi, Kisumu Day and Shimo la Tewa from Mombasa. Their first match will be against Shimo La Tewa High School tomorrow at 10 am at State House Girls.

The Brookside Kenya Secondary Schools term one games start tomorrow 11th to 15th April 2017 at State House Girls.
